OVERVIEW
The Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act was proclaimed November 1, 2004.
The Enhancement Act replaces the Child Welfare Act (1984) and provides
the legislative basis for services to children and families in Alberta.
The new legislation is based on research and extensive community consultation which
occurred as part of the Child Welfare Act Review.
