Programs for Parents
Licensed Child Care and Approved Family Day Home Programs
The Child Care Look-Up Tool assists parents to find information about licensed child care programs and approved family day home agencies. Parents are provided with information about program location, ages of children served, maximum number of children served, accreditation status and inspection results.
Licensed child care programs in Alberta are required to post inspection reports in a prominent and visible place on the program premises. Approved family day home agencies are required to provide parents with the compliance history of licensed program providers. Parents are also encouraged to speak directly to individual programs for compliance history or inspection results.
The approved family day home program offers child care in a family setting with government standards in place for caregiver - to - child ratio, health, safety and child development.
Supported Child Care Program
The Supported Child Care program provides children with special needs the opportunity to be with their peers in a child care setting by providing additional support to child care facilities.
